Mymensingh – Bangladesh
Bangladesh is divided into 64 administrative districts and is one of the districts of Mymensingh Dhaka division. The British had originally defined as an administrative unit of Mymensingh in 1787.
Lying in the northern part of the country is bounded by Mymensingh, in the northern Indian state of Meghalaya, located at the foot of the picturesque hills of Garo. Susang the hills to the southern border are the only other hilly areas.

Mymensingh town is also a center for trade in jute, rice, oilseeds, sugar cane and tobacco. In the past, known for producing fine glass bangles, Mymensingh and ‘known for jute and electricity industries.
The region is also home to many indigenous tribes of the northern borders, the tribes, Garo Kochis and Hajongs are ethnically very different from the rest of the Bengali population.
Find a game sanctuary and the Madhupur National Park (160 km from Dhaka) if you are traveling from Dhaka to Mymensingh. You can also reserve forests in this area, picnic areas and rest homes.
Bangladesh is a country full of folklore and Mymensingh district occupies a place in the heart of this tradition. The district has a leading position in the literature of Bengal for its wealth of folk songs and folklore.
There are many places in the district of Mymensingh in connection with the memory of the poet and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, who was part of the ancestral land of this country. kuthibari Shilaidaha Kuthibari (home) and Shahjadpur are among the places the poet significant periods of his life in writing and personal work.
Sagardari, which is 90 km from the town of Jessore, is the birthplace of the famous Bengali poet of the 19th century Michael Madhusudhan Datta.
Meherpur seven miles from the city, there is a monument dedicated to the first Provisional Revolutionary Government of Bangladesh, which were formed during the Liberation War of 1971.
There is an art gallery in Myensingh exhibition of paintings by the famous painter Ainul Abedin.
